"For the goal of the path is the ending of greed, hate, and delusion, and the cultivation of generosity directly weakens greed and hate, while facilitating that flexibility of mind that allows for the eradication of delusion."
~ Bhikku Bodhi
How does generosity open and purify the heart and mind?
How might generosity brighten and energize us?
How does generosity connect us?
The practice of dana, of generosity, is known as one of the adornments of the heart and mind. The giving of dana is beautiful. The receiving of dana is beautiful. There can be a joy in the mutuality of giving and receiving where one cannot tell the difference between the giver and the receiver. This circle of generosity can easily be broken, naturally revealing to us where and how we hold on, either as the giver or as the receiver. We can also begin to experience the uplifting qualities of generosity, and touch the freedom of letting go in the sharing.
Come join Terry Magee in this half day of practice. The class will consist of sitting and walking meditation, an interactive process, Q&A, and Dharma teaching. Bring whatever sitting gear supports you.
