Suffering's No Fun . But is it bad?

  • 931 North 5th Avenue Tucson, AZ, 85705 United States (map)
"I teach only two things: suffering and the end of suffering."
                                                      The Buddha

Moving away from difficulty is a normal human reaction. However, while our usual strategies of distancing, fixing, and distracting might bring short-term relief, they offer little to move us toward deeper happiness and peace.

Lucky for us the Buddha left behind simple instructions to follow, a path that leads to the end of suffering. And that path moves us gently through––not around––the tough stuff. This alone brings us greater understanding, and into a wiser relationship with the inevitable challenges of our lives.

In this daylong retreat we will discuss and practice how to be with difficulties in ways that might even lead us to feeling grateful that they came.
