led by Special Guest
Tina Rasmussen
We are excited to invite special guest teacher, Tina Rasmussen, to return to IMT to build on the well-attended Samatha Weekend Retreat she offered in December 2019. Tina will be offering a 4 month practice period: a monthly Thursday night class in Samatha; and a concluding daylong.
Monthly Drop-In Samatha Classes
In concentration and serenity (samatha) meditation, we return our awareness to one object of meditation to the exclusion of everything else, thereby collecting and unifying the mind stream, enabling us to turn away from the constant pull of our smartphones, computer screens, games, and entertainment, allowing us to settle into the serenity of our deeper nature.
There will be instructions, meditation, teachings and Q&A. This drop-in class is open to those new to practice as well as those with an established mindfulness practice. Join us by clicking the button below.

Four Benefits of Samatha
Tina has released a 4-minute video summarizing the tremendous benefits of committing to the Samatha (concentration and serenity) practice. The benefits are both practical, and can lead to significant experiences of our deeper nature.
