THE TEN PERFECTIONS

Parami of Goodwill, Metta

The Ten Perfections, or paramis (paramitas), also known as the adornments of the heart and mind, are the Buddhist teachings that are useful for bringing the path of awakening into everyday life. They are a list of qualities that you can develop both on the cushion and in your daily life. These qualities are:

Generosity (dana)
Virtue
(sila)
Renunciation
(nekkhamma)
Wisdom
(pañña)
Energy (viriya)
Patience
(khanti)
Truth
(sacca)
Determination
(aditthana)
Goodwill
(metta)
Equanimity
(upekkha)

The Insight Meditation Sitting Group is an on-going Thursday night class, offering continuity of practice within the support of a community of like-minded people.  The intention is to bring these valuable teachings of the Buddha into practical applications to our daily lives.

This drop-in class is open to those new to practice as well as those with an established mindfulness practice.

The evening includes a 30 minute sit, a dharma talk, and Q&A or discussion.

DANA

The teachings of the Buddha are a priceless gift which are offered freely. No one is ever turned away for inability to pay. We invite you to consider dana, generosity, as part of our practice together, and to give what you can to support this dharma service.
