Resting in Restlessness a daylong led by David Bornstein

  • 931 North 5th Avenue Tucson, AZ, 85705 United States (map)

“Restlessness and worry are like water when it is stirred up by the wind.”
– Joseph Goldstein

Maybe you’ve noticed that your mind has a mind of its own: You decide you’re not going to let your friend’s success bother you anymore, but you can’t stop comparing yourself to her; You resolve not to worry so much, but you’re up at night worrying; You sit down for a quiet meditation, but your mind is anything but quiet.

Meet restlessness.

During this day of Dharma teaching and practice, we will explore the Buddha’s advice on how to meet this challenging mind state, namely with openness and curiosity; to observe the ripples in the water instead of cursing the wind. Our freedom comes not from solving the problem of having a busy mind, but from resting in the restlessness that is right here. The class will consist of sitting and walking meditation, an interactive process, Q&A, and Dharma teaching. Bring whatever sitting gear supports you.

You are welcome to bring a snack or tea to share!
