Meeting Obstacles with Kindness led by David Bornstein

  • 931 North 5th Avenue Tucson, AZ, 85705 United States (map)

The Buddha taught, quite radically, that the root of our suffering lies not in the arising of
difficulty (inevitable in life), but in how we relate to difficulty when it does arise. This shift in understanding creates space for a total transformation of how we experience our own lives. As part of our exploration of the Five Hindrances––the classic Buddhist teaching about Craving, Aversion, Restlessness, Sloth & Torpor, and Doubt––we devote this day of practice to shifting our attitude toward these difficult energies. Through guided meditation, teachings, and mindful inquiry, we will practice relating to unwanted experiences with an attitude of loving-kindness.
