"There is one thing monks, that cultivated and regularly practiced,... leads to happiness here and now,..... to realizing deliverance by wisdom and the fruition of holiness: it is mindfulness of the body."
~ The Buddha
The ability to be mindful of the body is a fundamental practice and is the First Foundation in the Direct Path to Realization.
We often relate to our bodies through concepts of liking, disliking, evaluating, comparing and judging our bodies. But the Buddha asks us to come into a different relation with the body, to know the body in the body.
Along with Insight Meditation teacher Terry Magee, we are delighted to have Ellen Melamed, a certified Alexander Technique teacher, bring her skills to lead us in exploring more deeply the experience of sitting, as well the embodied experience of walking meditation.
