What can bring a sense of well-being, safety, and ease as we hold what arises in the body.
At times as we practice the First Foundation of Mindfulness, the Mindfulness of Body, it may be difficult to be present in the body, which may include meditating on the breath. This may be due to the challenges of recovering from an injury, managing an illness, or living with an unresolved trauma. There are ways of cultivating mindfulness that can support us in holding these experiences. By building the momentum of awareness in the places that are neutral or pleasant in the body, we can come home to a more embodied presence. It is possible to build our capacity to hold whatever manifests with more ease and equanimity, creating more stability and resilience in the mind and body.
Come join local Insight Meditation of Tucson teachers, Terry Magee and David Bornstein, for a nourishing day of practice. The day will consist of sitting and walking meditation, mindful inquiry, Q&A, and Dharma teaching. Bring whatever sitting gear supports you and please bring your lunch to offer continuity of practice. You are welcome to bring a snack or tea to share. A refrigerator and a microwave will be available.
